Separate video and audio tracks
A YouTube link normally comes back as two sets of streams: video-only and audio-only. Choose one from each column before saving — selecting only a video track gives you a silent file.
Paste a YouTube link and SniffVid lists every video and audio stream the parsers can reach. YouTube serves high-definition picture and sound as separate streams, so you pick one of each and the two are merged into a single MP4 on your own device.
Paste a link above to see every available video, audio and cover download.

A YouTube link normally comes back as two sets of streams: video-only and audio-only. Choose one from each column before saving — selecting only a video track gives you a silent file.
The parser returns the whole ladder it can see rather than a single best file, so you decide whether you want the smallest download or the sharpest picture.
If you only want the sound, pick an audio track and save it by itself. SniffVid copies the stream as it is and never re-encodes it, so nothing is lost in the process.
In the app, tap Share below the video and choose Copy link. In a desktop browser, copy the address bar or use Share and Copy. Both give the same address.
Drop the link into the input at the top of this page and press Get Download Links. A standard watch link such as youtube.com/watch?v=… is what the parsers expect.
Choose a video track and an audio track, then press Merge and save MP4. The two are written into one file on your device — nothing is uploaded anywhere.
Those are the shapes worth pasting. SniffVid accepts any other public http(s) link too — whether it resolves is up to the source, so a profile, a search page or a private post simply comes back empty.
Watch it on a flight, or rewind it while taking notes without the buffering that makes that painful.
Save just the audio track of a talk or a set and listen with the screen off and the data plan untouched.
Keep a copy at the resolution you published, in case the original is later removed, muted or restricted.
A video editor cannot open a YouTube page. A local file it can import is the whole point.
SniffVid resolves links from far more sites than these four. If yours is not listed, paste it anyway — the parsers decide what they can reach.
