Contact SniffVid

SniffVid is a small, independent project. Bug reports, takedown requests and security issues all reach one inbox, and all three are read.

English or Chinese. There is no support desk and no paid tier, so expect an answer within a few days rather than within the hour — and only when there is something useful to say.

Reporting a link that will not parse

Parsing runs through third-party services that change without notice, so a link that worked last week can fail today. The details below usually turn a vague report into something reproducible on the first try.

  • The full address you pasted, share-tracking parameters included
  • The message shown under the input, for example that no downloadable media was found for the link
  • Your browser, and whether you were on a phone or a desktop

Copyright and takedown requests

SniffVid does not host, store or index media, so there is no file here to delete. Removing a video is almost always a matter for the platform that hosts it or the CDN that serves it. What this service can do is stop resolving a specific address, and that is what a justified request gets. Write to the address above with the following.

  • Your name, the organisation you write for if any, and a working reply address
  • The exact URL you are reporting, plus the link you pasted into SniffVid if the two differ
  • The work you own or represent, and your relationship to it
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised
  • A statement that the information in your message is accurate

Abuse and security

Automated scraping, bulk parsing and attempts to overload the relay breach the terms of service, and the service throttles them automatically. If you find a security problem in the Worker, the site or the media tokens, write to us before telling anyone else and include the steps to reproduce it.

What we cannot help with

These come up often, and none of them can be answered from our side:

  • Recovering a file whose download or merge was interrupted
  • Making a slow or browser-blocking source CDN behave differently
  • Taking a video down from the platform that hosts it
  • Saying whether a particular download is lawful where you live
