SniffVid is designed so that there is almost nothing to collect. This page lists exactly what is processed and how long it lives.
What we do not collect
No account, no email address, no contact list and no uploaded media. Files you download are merged in your browser and never pass through our storage.
What is processed
To resolve a link the Worker receives the address you submitted, the hostname of the parsing service that answered, and technical details such as the timestamp and result of the parse. These are used to keep the service running and are written to short-lived operational logs.
Media tokens
Each media address is wrapped in an AES-256-GCM token containing the upstream URL and an expiry timestamp. Tokens are valid for fifteen minutes, are not tied to any user identity, and cannot be reused after they expire.
Cookies and storage
SniffVid uses local storage only for your language and theme preference. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies are set. Any aggregate analytics, if enabled, are configured to report totals rather than individual visits.
Third parties
Parsing is performed by independent third-party services, and media may be fetched from the original platform's CDN. Those providers see the request in the same way they would for any visitor; their own privacy policies apply.
Retention and contact
Operational logs are retained for a short period for debugging and abuse prevention, then discarded. For any privacy question, or to request deletion of log data, contact the maintainer through the repository linked in the footer.
